John Hurt 'moved' by Bafta Outstanding Achievement

John Hurt has been announced as the recipient of this year’s Bafta for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema which will be presented at Sunday’s awards. In a career which spans six decades, he has gone from an elephant man to a naked civil servant by way of an unfortunate spaceman dying one of Hollywood’s most gruesome deaths.
